The Presidential Administration's commander-in-chief communicated on Saturday morn that Steinmeier had chatted with Mayor Kurzbach of Solingen (SPD), expressing heartfelt grief and compassion. He also mentioned his hope for the recovery of the affected individuals.

A mystery figure attacked a group of folks with a blade during the city celebration in Solingen's city center on Friday night. As per law enforcement updates, tragically, three individuals lost their lives, and by Saturday morning, eight more individuals were hurt, five of them critically. The perpetrator is still on the loose, and police are conducting an extensive search for him.
