The Steigerlied project of "So geht sächsisch.", the image campaign of the Free State of Saxony, continues to attract great interest online. The 20 clips with musical interpretations of the traditional miner's song have so far reached around 8.4 million people on portals such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, according to the State Chancellery's website. The reach shows that "the miners' song is alive and well and moves people".

The project initiated by the Free State on the "miners' anthem", which is part of the intangible cultural heritage, is intended to show how alive this heritage still is in Saxony today and how different, modern and sometimes innovative the venerable miners' march can sound. The Dresden artist Lars P. Krause has visualized the Steiger for the campaign, "genuine, powerful, proud, authentic". His figure premiered at this year's mining parades - printed thousands of times on postcards.
