Personal details - State theater throws out ballet director

The Mecklenburg State Theatre unexpectedly parted ways with its Ballet Director Xenia Wiest. She was relieved of her duties on Tuesday and released, as the theatre announced in Schwerin on Wednesday.

Successful on stage - difficult behind the scenes

Wiest had shaped the ballet department of the Mecklenburg State Theatre with great success among the audience in the past three seasons as an artist and choreographer. She earned respect and appreciation. "But as successful Xenia Wiest's choreographies on stage are, her behavior within the theatre operations is intolerable," the theatre's statement read. No statement from Wiest was available at first.

Violated employment contract

The theatre statement mentioned that as Ballet Director, Wiest had multiple times violated the duties of her employment contract. She also violated provisions of the Companies Act. This made a trusting collaboration between her and the theatre management impossible. For the coming theatre season, a solution is to be found for the interim leadership of the ballet.

Personal details regarding Xenia Wiest's departure from the State Theater in Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, have not been disclosed, but it is known that her tenure as Ballet Director was terminated due to multiple violations of her employment contract and the Companies Act. Meanwhile, the Theater is seeking an interim leader for the ballet department, which Wiest had led successfully for the past three seasons.
