State security investigated for extreme left-wing confession to attacks on DB

The article was already published on the left-wing extremist online platform Indymedia on Friday. The German Railway is described therein, among other things, as a central part of the capitalist system and military infrastructure.

The arson attack in Bremen on Monday significantly disrupted train traffic to Hamburg. The State Protection of the Bremen State Police later took over the investigation, as a political background was being examined, it was reported.

On Friday, there was also a cable fire at a railway facility in Berlin, causing significant disruptions to train traffic. Due to the fire damaging several cables in a shaft, repair work is expected to continue beyond the weekend, the railway announced. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but a technical cause has been ruled out.

In France, there were acts of sabotage on fiber optic cables of the French railway last Friday, just before the opening of the Olympic Games in Paris. Train traffic was significantly restricted nationwide. Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin suspected left-wing extremists.

The arson attack in Bremen, affecting the German Railway, led to severe disruptions in train traffic to Hamburg. The investigation into the incident was handed over to the State Protection of the Bremen State Police, given the potential political motives.
