State Parliament President Aras elected to the Green Party Council
The state parliament president of Baden-Württemberg, Muhterem Aras (Greens), has been elected to the 16-member party council at her party's national conference in Karlsruhe. "I would like to support our federal board in shrinking the AfD nationwide," she said on Sunday, according to a statement. She is ready to give her "experience, strength and passion for the defense of our liberal democracy". The committee is to advise the federal executive and coordinate work with parliamentary groups and state associations.
As a member of the Green Party Council, Aras will contribute her experience and passion to help combat the growth of the AfD nationwide. In her new role, Aras aims to support the Green Party's efforts to defend liberal democracy at both the federal and state levels.
