Fire department - State government thanks fire departments in MV
Ministerpresident Manuela Schwesig (SPD) thanked all firefighters in MV on the occasion of a thank you event in Rostock for their efforts. "They protect, extinguish, rescue, and save under great physical exertion, sometimes even at the risk of their own health," said the SPD politician.
Involvement in voluntary work requires a lot of time to be invested, for training, further education, and above all for deployments. "I am very pleased that we can say in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: We can rely on our fire departments."
Minister of the Interior Christian Pegel (SPD) emphasized that the festival was meant to express the state government's gratitude for the outstanding commitment of the approximately 26,157 voluntary firefighters and women in MV. "The many voluntary comrades and comrades save our lives daily."
The state government also referred to its 50 million Euro program "Future-capable Fire Department," which is the largest procurement program for the fire department in the history of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In addition to 265 new fire trucks for the fire departments in the state, new group and tank fire trucks will also be provided. Furthermore, 50 million Euros will be made available for the construction or renovation of equipment houses.
