Municipalities - State government promotes daycare center construction with special program
According to the Bertelsmann Foundation, there is a shortage of more than 27,000 daycare places in Rhineland-Palatinate. One reason for this is the increased need for childcare for many families. To ensure that local authorities and daycare providers can provide good childcare facilities for all boys and girls, the state government wants to give them more support. To this end, the state is launching a special program for the construction of daycare facilities. Minister President Malu Dreyer and Education Minister Stefanie Hubig (both SPD) will present the so-called Kita-Kraftpaket on Monday (12.30 pm) in Mainz.

The shortage of daycare places in Rhineland-Palatinate, as identified by the Bertelsmann Foundation, is primarily due to the rising demand for childcare in many families. Recognizing this need, the state government aims to strengthen local authorities and daycare providers by implementing a special construction program for daycare facilities. This initiative is aimed at ensuring high-quality childcare options for all children in the commune. On Monday, Minister President Malu Dreyer and Education Minister Stefanie Hubig (both SPD) will unveil the Kita-Kraftpaket, a key component of this special program, in Mainz.
