Trade unions - State collective bargaining dispute: Verdi calls for warning strike in MV

The Verdi trade union has also announced warning strikes in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for Wednesday in the public sector wage dispute in the federal states. Among others, all employees of the Rostock and Greifswald University Medical Centers, universities, colleges and research institutions in the state, road construction authorities, state ministries, state offices and institutes have been called out.

In Rostock, a rally will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Platz der Freiheit parking lot and will end at noon at the Gewerkschaftshaus (August-Bebel-Straße/Hermannstraße). The negotiations will continue on December 7 and 8, 2023 in the third round in Potsdam.

Verdi is demanding an income increase of 10.5 percent for employees, but at least 500 euros for a term of twelve months. According to Verdi, the negotiations in MV affect 48,775 state employees and around 2,000 municipal civil servants.
