Stadler, a train manufacturer, recently opened a workshop in Rendsburg (part of the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district) dedicated to maintaining battery packs. Economic Minister Claus Ruhe Madsen (CDU) expressed his delight about the new facility, stating that it provides ideal conditions in Schleswig-Holstein to keep the battery-electric regional trains running smoothly.

The workshop has been purposefully designed for servicing and repairing battery-powered trains. Spanning a total area of 77,000 square meters, it comes equipped with a vehicle hall and an outdoor cleaning station. Moreover, the workshop also doubles up as a storage space for the battery packs, where they can be charged as required. To monitor the battery packs that have been removed, containers are provided for tracking their performance - these monitor the data of the energy storage systems so that any required maintenance can be carried out before any reoccurring issues escalate.
