Freudenberg - Stable with more than a thousand pigs burns down

A barn with around 1,300 pigs has burned down in the Upper Palatinate district of Amberg-Sulzbach. It was initially unclear how many animals died in the fire on Tuesday, according to the police. Around 100 firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to the neighboring houses in Freudenberg. Two residents had to be treated for suspected smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire was initially unclear. The damage caused is estimated to be in the high six-figure range.
