Freudenberg - Stable with more than a thousand pigs burns down
A barn with around 1,300 pigs has burned down in the Upper Palatinate district of Amberg-Sulzbach. It was initially unclear how many animals died in the fire on Tuesday, according to the police. Around 100 firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to the neighboring houses in Freudenberg. Two residents had to be treated for suspected smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire was initially unclear. The damage caused is estimated to be in the high six-figure range.

The fire in Freudenberg occurred in the Upper Palatinate, a region adjacent to the County of Bavaria. The nearby houses were safeguarded by over 100 emergency responders from various areas, including the Police department. Subsequent investigations are required to identify the cause of the extensive damage to the barn, estimated to be in the millions.
