Erfurt - St. Augustine's Church focuses on light art again during Advent
A special light installation can once again be experienced in the Protestant Augustinian Church during Advent. The Berlin-based artist duo "Kopffarben" are taking scenes from the Christmas story and projecting them onto the interior walls of the church, as the Augustinian monastery announced on the first day of Advent. The installation can be seen daily until January 6 between 4 pm and 7 pm. Admission is free of charge.
The artist duo are Johannes Schmidt and Julia Schäfer, who grew up in Erfurt. They have also projected large-format images onto the façade of the cathedral in Erfurt for the Day of German Unity 2022, according to reports.

The duo's connection to Erfurt extends beyond this Christmas light installation, as they have also showcased their large-format work on the city's cathedral during the Day of German Unity. This advent season, the light art scene in Thuringia's Erfurt is enhanced further with St. Augustine's Church hosting this unique light installation. Visitors during their leisure time can enjoy this captivating display from 4 pm to 7 pm daily, until January 6, completely free of charge.
