Fire department - Spray can explodes in house: teenager injured
The explosion of an aerosol can in an apartment building in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt has injured a young female resident. The explosion occurred in the middle of the night on Thursday in an apartment on the third floor of the building. A police spokesman said that it was not initially possible to determine why the spray can had exploded. It also remained unclear what type of spray was involved. The 17-year-old resident was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
According to the fire department, debris and parts of the façade were lying in the backyard of the building when the emergency services arrived. A fire in the apartment extinguished itself before the fire department arrived. The fire department evacuated twelve other residents of the building. They were able to return to their apartments a short time later. The affected apartment was badly damaged and uninhabitable. The damage amounted to several tens of thousands of euros.
