Second-Level German Football League 2nd most important tier of German football - Bundesliga - Sports director appointment announced in Nuremberg.

Joti Chatzialexiou is set to be unveiled as the new sports director at 1. FC Nuremberg on Monday. The former head of Germany's national teams will step in to replace Dieter Hecking, who was let go by the club at the beginning of May.

Chatzialexiou has his work cut out for him. 1. FC Nuremberg is undergoing a major shake up. On top of that, the future of coach Christian Fiel is up in the air. There were whispers of a switch to Hertha BSC, but the FCN firmly denied this most recently.

Last season, the FCN managed to stay in the top flight only on the next-to-last match day following a subpar campaign.
