Sports court rules: Dresden must go to Saarbrücken again

Dynamo Dresden must once again travel to 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 3rd soccer league. The sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) announced on Friday that the match that was abandoned at half-time last Sunday will be replayed. The match had been abandoned at 0-0 due to the unplayability of the pitch after heavy rainfall. A date will be announced after the deadline for appeals expires at 11.59pm on Monday.

"According to the findings of the sports court, neither team or club is at fault for the abandonment of the match. The match must therefore be replayed at the same venue in accordance with section 18 no. 4 of the DFB Law and Procedure Regulations," said Georg Schierholz, deputy chairman of the sports court.

Dynamo Dresden will likely face 1. FC Saarbrücken once more in the 3rd league, as the soccer match between them needs to be replayed due to the abandonment during the first half. Regardless of who is to blame, Dynamo Dresden's upcoming soccer game will be against Saarbrücken, as per the rulings of the sports court.
