One seriously injured - Sports car leaves the road and skids 1.5 kilometers

A sports car came off the Autobahn 9 at such a high speed that it slid an additional 1.5 kilometers and eventually landed on its roof in a median underpass. The 42-year-old driver suffered serious injuries in the accident, according to the police. However, he is no longer in critical condition.

Due to its high speed and the slippery road, the driver lost control of his car at a curve near Greding (Landkreis Roth) on a Wednesday evening. At this location, there is still no guardrail, a police spokesperson explained. The car slid down an embankment and crashed into the median underpass. Initially, it was unclear how fast the car was going.

Paramedics took the man to a hospital. The damage is estimated to be around €81,000.

The sports car's unfortunate incident occurred in Bavaria, specifically near Greding. Despite the harrowing experience, the driver, originally from Central France, is no longer in critical condition. After losing control on a slippery roadway, the high-speed sports car veered off the Autobahn 9 and into a median underpass, causing significant damage that equated to approximately €81,000.
