Soccer - Speculation about BVB's interest in Stuttgart's Guirassy

Borussia Dortmund's current period of weakness is fueling speculation about new signings just three weeks before the start of the winter transfer period. According to the German newspaper "Sportbild" on Tuesday, the Bundesliga's current fifth-placed team is said to be putting out feelers for top striker Serhou Guirassy from third-placed VfB Stuttgart. According to the report, the 27-year-old's contract, which runs until 2026, contains an exit clause that would allow him to move in both winter and summer. According to reports, a transfer fee of around 20 million euros would be due for the attacker from Guinea.

Guirassy has scored 18 goals in 14 competitive matches so far this season, arousing the interest of other clubs. The 27-year-old moved to Stuttgart permanently from Stade Rennes for an estimated nine million euros following a loan spell for the current season. However, VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth recently rejected a possible move for Guirassy. "With Serhou Guirassy, we had many reasons in the summer for extending his contract. And the same arguments are playing a role again now. We'll see how he deals with the arguments," he explained on the DAZN streaming service.
