Spectacular illuminations kick off the European Football Championship in Frankfurt.

On Wednesday evening, the region surrounding Flößerbrücke bridge will reportedly be crowded. A significant aspect of the event: the colors depicted by the 24 participating nations.

The European Championship - Spectacular illuminations kick off the European Football Championship in Frankfurt.

Frankfurt will start the European Championship on Wednesday with a spectacular show on the Main river. The east side of Flößerbrücke will be decorated with the colors of the 24 participating countries. This will be followed by an impressive light display, musical performances with renditions of the football anthem "You'll Never Walk Alone" and music from past European Championships.

This 25-minute show will begin at 10:30 pm. The best places to watch it are from Weseler Werft and the Sachsenhäuser Main bank. Hessian Broadcasting Corporation will also air the event live on television. Referees from UEFA will visit the Kaisersaal in the afternoon (2:30 pm). In the evening (8:00 pm), there will be a special reception for Frankfurt, as the city is hosting the EM.
