European Union - SPD Secretary-General laments low trust in federal party

In the upcoming European elections in Brandenburg, the Brandenburg SPD views the expected losses as a sign of a lack of faith in the overall federal party. "This clearly indicates that there is currently no faith in the federal SPD," said SPD General Secretary David Kolesnyk to the German Press Agency on Sunday. The same trend was observed in the results of the SPD during the Bundestag elections.

The AfD is predicted to win big in the European elections in Brandenburg, with a more significant result than five years ago. As a result, the SPD is likely to see significant setbacks. In contrast, the CDU is expected to remain quite steady. The Left Party (Die Linke) is predicted to receive more than ten percent of the votes. Although the European election and the state election are not directly comparable, it is considered a kind of "mood test" conducted three and a half months before the state election, when municipal elections were also held in Brandenburg.
