Losse-Müller went on to write that it meant a great deal to him that he had been re-elected as chairman in May 2022 despite losing the election. He has learned a lot about his strengths and weaknesses over the past three years. In future, others should be able to use "the stage of the state parliament".

According to Losse-Müller, he will move to the Climate Neutrality Foundation, where he will be responsible for the newly established Social Climate Council as its third managing director. At the same time, the former chairman wants to remain active in the SPD and contribute to substantive debates.

After announcing his resignation from the role of SPD parliamentary group leader in Schleswig-Holstein and his seat in the state parliament, Thomas Losse-Müller will join the Climate Neutrality Foundation. He will assume the position of managing director for the new Social Climate Council. Despite leaving his political position, Losse-Müller expressed his intention to remain an active member of the SPD and contribute to crucial debates.

In the State parliament, the vacancy created by Losse-Müller's resignation will require the Parties to engage in party deliberations to find a suitable replacement for the influential role. Losse-Müller's departure from the SPD parliamentary group marks a significant shakeup in the political landscape of Schleswig-Holstein.
