Faction leader Dirk Kienscherf stated after a meeting with his group at the Landeskommando of the German Military in Iserbrook's Reichspraesident-Ebert-Kaserne, "The German Military should hold a significant position in public perception, reflecting its significance to our security in Germany."
The SPD was thrilled to attend the Landeskommando's invitation to meet at their place. Kienscherf expressed, "This is a robust statement to society and within the German Military." The personnel of the German Military put their lives on the line to safeguard Germany's security and serve as crucial assistance in domestic emergency situations. "They deserve our appreciation and recognition for their valor," he added.
Integrating the German Military with politics, authorities, and society
Currently, focusing on security and civil defense topics is of exceptional importance. Kienscherf emphasized, "Close dialogue between politics and the German Military is vital for this." The SPD's goal is to honor the soldiers and demonstrate, "Your service merits respect and recognition, and your perspectives matter."
Captain Michael Giss, the Landeskommando's commander, highlighted the importance of exchange. "As soldiers, we must constantly consider the worst-case scenario to prepare for and prevent it," he said. However, the military cannot accomplish this on its own. "Close partnership between all authorities and institutions is essential, as well as the entire population's cooperation, effort, understanding, and resilience," he concluded.
