Legislative assembly - SPD demands data on women's health at the state level.

In Schleswig-Holstein, the Social Democratic Party (SPD) calls for a central data collection on women's health. The lack of reliable information means that women's health may not be adequately addressed, as the SPD's Kiel faction stated on Wednesday. Additionally, women are often disregarded when it comes to their health needs in the medical field.

SPD MP Birte Pauls highlighted the absence of data on the health of low-income women, who are more vulnerable to various issues. These health problems are often exacerbated by financial constraints and societal barriers that limit their access to healthcare.

Women also experience higher rates of mental illnesses than men, according to research. Pauls noted that many ladies balance their professional responsibilities with family duties, which can lead to chronic stress and burnout. Moreover, women are frequently victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, which increase their risk of developing post-traumatic stress disorders.

The Schleswig-Holstein state government, currently led by black-green coalition, cannot provide an explanation for the medical reasons that led to disability pensions for 37,355 women in this region, as per Pauls.

In addition, research indicates that Women have higher rates of mental illnesses compared to Men, frequently resulting from juggling professional responsibilities and family duties, which can lead to chronic stress and burnout. Furthermore, Women are unfortunately more prone to being victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, which can exacerbate various health issues and increase the risk of post-traumatic stress disorders.

Despite the Black-Green coalition governing the Schleswig-Holstein state government, SPD representatives have criticized their inability to explain why 37,355 Women received disability pensions due to medical reasons in the region. This lack of transparency highlights the importance of data collection and monitoring in addressing Women's health concerns.
