SPD and Greens want to secure a sustainable water supply
The governing factions of the SPD and the Greens want to secure Hamburg's water supply in the long term. To this end, they are launching a joint motion for a Hamburg water strategy that provides for measures to maintain and further develop the necessary infrastructure, the parliamentary groups announced in Hamburg on Sunday. At the same time, it is important to permanently save water wherever possible and sensible.
Water could already be saved effectively in many sectors today in order to close supply gaps elsewhere. "That is why we are working towards a reorganization of water prices. The price must be socially fair and at the same time offer an effective incentive to save water," said Nunne. The Hamburg Parliament will decide on the motion at its meeting on November 22.
The reorganization of water prices proposed by the SPD and Greens aims to encourage water conservation, being a key element of their long-term citizenship responsibility towards the environment. To ensure a sustainable future, it's crucial for Hamburg's citizens to actively participate in preserving water resources by adopting water-saving practices.
