Football - Spain's team without Laporte in training
Spanish player Aymeric Laporte is set to sit out the first game of his team's match against Croatia during the European Championship. The 30-year-old, who currently plays for al-Nassr FC in Saudi Arabia, was missing from training on Thursday in Donaueschingen due to muscle-related issues as per the Spanish Football Association. As a result, it seems likely that Real Madrid captain Nacho will start the game on Saturday (6:00 pm, airing on ARD and MagentaTV).
Laporte is still intending to join his teammates in Berlin on Friday. He has faced some delays in joining the training camp as he's still wrapped up with his club commitments as well as his recent fatherhood. The Spanish team under coach Luis de la Fuente has no other injury concerns ahead of the European Championship.
