Southwest CDU in favor of outsourcing asylum procedures
The southwest CDU is in favor of a complete turnaround in migration policy - and the outsourcing of asylum procedures. At the state party conference in Reutlingen on Saturday, delegates voted in favor of a corresponding motion by Thorsten Frei, Parliamentary Secretary of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag. According to the motion, the individual right of asylum should be abolished.
According to the motion, asylum procedures should be outsourced to other countries and these countries should also be made a safe haven for refugees. In the event of a positive outcome to the asylum procedure, this safe third country would grant the applicant protection on site. According to Frei, he wants to advocate for the concept to be included in the CDU's federal program, which is currently being developed. Back in July, Frei proposed abolishing the right of individual migrants to apply for asylum on European soil and replacing it with admission quotas.
The CDU's proposal in the southwest proposes outsourcing asylum procedures to other countries, transforming these countries into safe havens for refugees. Thorsten Frei, a key CDU figure, aims to incorporate this concept into the party's federal program, as suggested in his July proposal to abolish the individual right of asylum applicants on European soil.
