Upcoming European elections - Southern west youths frequently support minor political parties.
The CDU led the pack among the traditional parties, acquiring 21% of young voters' votes. The AfD was close behind them with 16% support.
Around 7.8 million Germans had the right to cast their votes during the European elections. The Statistical Office of the Federal State also reported that around 830,000 citizens from other EU countries had the option to vote either in their home country or Germany.
