DWD issues a warning - Southern Germany faces the danger of more intense rainfall.
The German Weather Service (DWD) forecasts another wave of heavy rains in southern Germany, after last week's storm. Bavaria might receive up to 60 liters of rain per square meter from Saturday night to Monday morning, says DWD meteorologist Dirk Mewes. The exact location of the downpours is uncertain.
Hazards Could Arise - Thunderstorms and Hail Possible
Despite less rainfall than last week, potential dangers loom due to the full rivers and saturated grounds. Rivers could swell, causing threats to life and property. Landslides might occur in some areas during Thursday afternoon to Friday, as intense storms and heavy rainfall are expected.
Thunderstorms, hail, strong winds, and gusts are predicted in Baden-Württemberg from Thursday afternoon to Friday. Up to 40 liters of rain per square meter may fall in a short period of time. On Saturday, rain is predicted across the region, while on Sunday and Monday, water levels are projected to rise. It's unknown if flood or heavy/sustained rain warnings will be exceeded, the meteorologist explained.
