Shortly after the start - Some applications received for cannabis cultivation associations

Few days after the beginning of the application period, several interested parties in Lower Saxony have registered to establish a Cannabis cultivation association. So far, 30 associations have registered and 9 of them have submitted applications, as a spokesperson of the Ministry of Agriculture stated today in Hannover.

Applications can be submitted since Monday (1. July) at the Chamber of Agriculture. Since July, non-commercial cultivation associations with a maximum of 500 members can start. Full-grown persons can then cultivate Cannabis together and exchange it among themselves for personal consumption.

The clubs must apply for a permit, regular controls are also provided for by law. Since 1. April, adults are allowed to carry up to 25 grams of Cannabis in public and can store up to 50 grams at home as part of the Cannabis partial legalization.

The registration of Cannabis cultivation associations in Lower Saxony has sparked a wider conversation about the impact of drugs on society. This new trend in Hanover could potentially contribute to improvements in individual health, as proponents argue that controlled use of Cannabis can have therapeutic benefits. However, it's crucial for authorities to ensure that these associations adhere strictly to the regulations set out by law, to prevent any misuse of Cannabis and maintain public order.
