Dortmund also won their difficult preliminary round group and should have a good chance of progressing against Eindhoven. Leipzig finished second behind Manchester City in the knockout phase and will start as outsiders against the Real star ensemble. 1. FC Union Berlin, the fourth Bundesliga team to make their debut in the top flight, finished bottom of their group in the European Cup.
