Solar energy generation in Germany reaches unprecedented peak in July.

Financial Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) highlighted that a record was hit in solar energy production in July, regardless of less sunlight compared to the previous year. This suggests, "our strategies are succeeding, and the use of solar energy is increasing continually," the minister shared with Funke newspapers. "The growth is happening at an accelerated pace."

As for onshore wind power, "the increase in approval permits offers promising opportunities," Habeck pointed out. "This helps us compensate for the gaps left by the previous legislative period and stay on course to achieve our expansion and environmental protection objectives by 2030."

Despite his optimism, I'm not going to make a hasty promise about reaching our wind energy targets by 2030, given the complexities involved. Regardless, we remain committed to leveraging approved onshore wind power projects to plug the gaps from the past legislative period.
