Softair gun causes police intervention at school
An alleged firearm triggered a police operation at a school in Neunkirchen, Saarland, on Friday morning. Witnesses had previously reported a man handling a long gun in the trunk of a car and then going into the school, the police said on Friday. As it was initially unclear whether the man had also taken the weapon into the school building, special police units were deployed.
It turned out that the man was a 24-year-old student at the school. He was cooperative and led the police to the weapon in his vehicle. The weapon turned out to be a soft air weapon. There was no concrete danger at any time, it was said. The investigation into the weapon found is still ongoing.
The police responded swiftly due to the report of a man with a gun, leading to the deployment of special units. The object of concern was later identified as a softair weapon.
