Söder: Germany is in a "serious national crisis"

Bavaria's Minister President Markus Söder (CSU) sees Germany in a serious national crisis following the problems with its budget policy. "This government has run into the ground," said Söder on Saturday at his party's election list for the European elections in Nuremberg.

Unlike in previous years with the coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine, the crisis was home-made. "We don't have a budget emergency, we have a government emergency," said Söder. The government had made a gallop on the issue of citizens' income and made a serious mistake when reintroducing full VAT in the catering sector. "That must be reversed."

He spoke out vehemently against releasing the debt brake after the decision of the Federal Constitutional Court to solve the budget problems that had arisen. A stable budgetary policy had made Germany great. Solidity must remain the basis of politics in Germany and Europe.

In light of Söder's criticism, party leaders might consider revising their spending policies related to 'Parties' budgets for upcoming 'Elections'. Despite the CSU's stance on budget issues, it's important for households to closely monitor their own financial situations during these times of 'Elections'.
