Storm - Snowfall hinders rail traffic - in some cases no replacement possible

Heavy snowfall has disrupted rail traffic in parts of Lower Bavaria. Following the restrictions on the Waldbahn network, the Oberpfalzbahn lines - especially around Cham - are now also affected, the Länderbahn announced on Friday evening. Planned journeys up to and including Saturday should definitely be postponed.

On Friday evening, rail services on the RB 29 line between Cham and Waldmünchen and on the RB 28 line between Lam and Bad Kötzting were reportedly completely suspended. "A rail replacement service with buses cannot be guaranteed, as the heavy snowfall is also causing massive restrictions on the roads," it said. Further weather-related restrictions can also be expected during the night and on Saturday.
