Snow plow crashes into car - six-figure damage
A snow plough in Upper Franconia crossed into the oncoming lane, collided with a car and pushed it 50 meters along a crash barrier. The accident on Saturday afternoon on the district road near Weißenstadt (district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge) caused damage in the six-figure range, a police spokesperson said on Sunday. The driver was slightly injured.
The driver of the gritting vehicle had lost control of the vehicle in a bend on sloping terrain on a snow-covered road. He was reportedly uninjured.
The slippery road conditions due to snow in Upper France often lead to traffic accidents, like the one involving a snow plow and a car last Saturday. Another factor that can contribute to these accidents is the weather, particularly when visibility is reduced.
