Emergencies - Snow cover on chimney: heat build-up and 200,000 euros damage
Too much snow on the chimney: After a wood-burning stove was set alight in Kraiburg am Inn (district of Mühldorf am Inn), damage amounting to around 200,000 euros was caused. The thick layer of snow on the chimney flue led to a build-up of heat in the chimney and in the false ceiling on Monday, the police said on Tuesday. Several fire departments were called out. Despite the smoke, the 43-year-old resident was fortunately unharmed.
