In Thuringia's mountainous regions, the cold weather can lead to smooth driving conditions due to the frozen roads. Despite the forecasted snowfall, the German Weather Service (DWD) suggests that Erfurt and other low-lying areas might experience a relatively 'smooth' commute on Saturday. Interestingly, the Thuringian Vogtland, often known for its mountain country, might experience a different kind of smoothness with snowfall starting from the afternoon.
