Winter has also arrived in Berlin. Where white layers of snow cover the capital, soccer fans now have to take a back seat.

Weather - Snow and frost: no amateur soccer matches

All amateur soccer matches in Berlin up to and including Sunday have been canceled due to frost and heavy snowfall. Previously, many of the sports facilities had already been closed due to the weather, as the Berlin Football Association announced on Thursday.

No rescheduled dates for the matches have yet been planned. A decision will be made next week as to whether the closure will remain in place for longer. Indoor tournaments and futsal matches are exempt from the general cancellation, according to the Berlin Football Association's website. Match operations at DFB and NOFV level would also remain unaffected. The North-East German Football Association had already canceled the home games of Viktoria Berlin, Hertha BSC II, SV Babelsberg 03 and BFC Dynamo in the regional league.
