Heavy rain and thunderstorms in Baden-Württemberg caused major flooding in a small town's streets and cellars, prompting the fire department to step in and help out. In Veringenstadt, located in the Sigmaringen district, two street intersections were completely submerged in water, and some basements had also gotten wet, according to the fire department's on-site commander.

The firefighter informed the German Press Agency that the rainfall was so intense it overwhelmed the town's sewage system, leaving it unable to drain properly. By nightfall, however, the emergency teams were able to remove the water from the streets and basements, restoring normal function to the area's sewer system.
