Slippery and sleet on Friday - milder weekend

It will be slippery and wet in Berlin and Brandenburg on Friday. The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of icy conditions until late morning. Haze and fog will ensure low visibility in the morning, locally below 150 meters.

Weather - Slippery and sleet on Friday - milder weekend

It will be slippery and wet in Berlin and Brandenburg on Friday. The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of icy conditions until late morning. Haze and fog will ensure low visibility in the morning, locally below 150 meters.

Initially, temperatures will remain around freezing point, in the southwest down to minus three degrees. During the course of the day, highs will be between zero and plus two degrees. It will remain mostly cloudy, with clear spells possible in southern Brandenburg at the beginning.

Wet snow, sleet or rain will start to fall from Saxony-Anhalt in the afternoon. In the evening, precipitation will also reach Berlin and eastern Brandenburg. Around two centimetres of fresh snow will fall, especially in the central and northern parts of the state and in the Berlin area.

During the night to Saturday, snow and sleet will quickly move eastwards. After that, it will remain largely free of precipitation. The lows will be around freezing point. It will be icy in places.

With many clouds, there will be some rain until midday on Saturday. After that, it will remain dry for longer with local clearing. Rain will return to western Brandenburg in the late evening. Maximum temperatures on Saturday will be between two and six degrees, on Sunday between four and eight degrees.
