- Slip on the pedal - 71 year old causes serious damage
In Dessau-Roßlau, a man in his 70s accidentally slipped from the brake to the gas pedal while parking, causing significant property damage. The 71-year-old's car accelerated due to the slip on Friday, colliding head-on with a van. The van was then pushed into two more vehicles, resulting in a total of 36,000 euros in damages, according to police.
The authorities decided to issue a fine for the incident, stating, "The following shall be added to the man's driving record: a citation for reckless driving." In light of the accident, insurance companies were notified to evaluate the claims and potential coverage for the damages.
