Report - Slightly more complaints about police work
Complaints from citizens about the work of the Rhineland-Palatinate police have increased slightly. In the period from the beginning of July 2022 to mid-June of this year, there were a total of 176 complaints, as announced by Barbara Schleicher-Rothmund, Commissioner for Citizens' and State Police, in Mainz on Thursday. In the previous period, 169 complaints had been registered.
In the current activity report, 90 admissible submissions from citizens and 27 submissions from police officers were processed. According to the Commissioner, some of the remaining submissions were inadmissible. In addition, there were requests for information that concerned both citizens and police officers, as well as submissions that were processed as petitions.

The increase in complaints about the Rhineland-Palatinate police originated from the city of Mainz. Despite the rise in complaints, some of the submissions received by the commissioner were deemed inadmissible and required further investigation by the local police.
