Slight rise in unemployment in Lower Saxony
The number of unemployed in Lower Saxony rose slightly in November. A total of 250,140 people were registered as unemployed, 446 more than in the previous month, according to the regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency on Thursday. The unemployment rate rose from 5.6 to 5.7 percent. A year ago, it had been 5.4 percent.
The weak economy has reached the labor market and is now becoming increasingly noticeable, the employment agency explained the increase. Unemployment has increased significantly, especially among men over 50. Long-term unemployment is also on the rise. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a job, especially for those with low qualifications.
The rise in unemployment in Lower Saxony is a reflection of the challenging conditions in the broader labor market. Consequently, long-term unemployment has become more prevalent, making it harder for individuals with lower qualifications to secure employment.
