Slight rise in unemployment in Brandenburg
The number of unemployed people in Brandenburg has risen slightly. 77,795 people were registered as unemployed in November, as announced by the Regional Directorate of the Federal Employment Agency on Thursday. The employment outlook in the metropolitan region remains positive, the regional office announced. "By intensifying our support for language course graduates with a basic language level in the job centers and employment agencies, we are mobilizing potential to secure the demand for jobs and skilled workers in Berlin and Brandenburg," said Regional Directorate Head Ramona Schröder.
The employment agencies and job centers were notified of 4081 new job vacancies in November. That was 128 more than in October. In total, there were 24,754 vacancies in Brandenburg in November - 2791 fewer than a year earlier.
Despite the slight rise in unemployment in Brandenburg, the employment outlook in the metropolitan region remains positive. The regional office aims to secure job demand and skilled worker supply by intensifying support for language course graduates with a basic language level.
