Slight increase in the number of school enrollments in Saxony-Anhalt
Around 19,809 children started school in Saxony-Anhalt at the beginning of the new school year - slightly more than in the previous school year. According to the State Statistical Office in Halle on Thursday, there were 216 more children starting school (1.1 percent). Most of the children (19,062) started school at elementary school, 627 children were enrolled at special schools and 120 at Waldorf schools. There were slightly more boys (51.9 percent) than girls among the new schoolchildren. 249 children started school early and 798 were delayed.
The increase in school enrollments in Saxony-Anhalt could be analyzed further using statistical tools. Additionally, local schools might need to consider strategies to accommodate the growing number of students.
