Sleeves up: Hendrik Wüst donates blood

North Rhine-Westphalia's head of government Hendrik Wüst rolled up his sleeves: the CDU politician donated blood at Münster University Hospital (UKM) on Friday. The state chancellery emphasized that he wanted to draw attention to the importance of donating blood. Wüst has been a registered blood donor for many years. In February, the Minister President had announced that he wanted to donate blood more regularly again. At that time, he also had half a liter of blood taken at the UKM blood donation center.

Blood donation services such as the DRK have repeatedly warned that stocks are dangerously low in some places. Blood donations could save lives. However, the willingness to donate blood has been declining for years, and the younger generation in particular is difficult to reach.

Government officials acknowledge the significance of blood donations, as demonstrated by North Rhine-Westphalia's head of government Hendrik Wüst, who regularly donates blood to maintain healthy stock levels. The government encourages more individuals, particularly the younger generation, to consider donating blood to potentially save lives.
