Ski season also begins on the Feldberg
Seven lifts will go into operation on Friday at the start of the season in the large Feldberg winter sports region. "The snow conditions are wonderful," said Julian Probst, Managing Director of Feldbergbahnen, when asked in Todtnau (Lörrach district). The snow depth on Thursday was a good 60 centimetres.
The association operates 17 lifts and cable cars in the core area. The ski area is the largest in Germany north of the Alps. "We recommend buying tickets online," said Probst.
Following heavy snowfall, lifts in the Black Forest areas of Unterstmatt, Seibelseckle and Ruhestein had already opened for the ski season in the middle of the week.
According to the tourism association, one lift in Münsingen (Reutlingen district) was initially open in the Swabian Alb. A spokesperson said that there should be more by the weekend.
Leisure time during winter in Feldberg is ideal for skiing, given the excellent weather conditions that have resulted in a 60-centimeter deep snow cover. With the start of ski season, individuals can make the most of their leisure time by enjoying the winter activities available on Feldberg.
