Winter sports - Ski lift start: snowboarders and co. on the move
They didn't let the cloudy, foggy weather stop them: Enthusiastic snowboarders and skiers took the opportunity in Oberhof on Friday to get to the slopes on the first ski lift of the season to be open, according to the operator.
The operator of the ski lift in the "Lotto Thüringen Snowpark Oberhof" announced on its website that this was the earliest start to the season for ten years. More ski lifts are due to open at the weekend, according to the Thuringian Forest Regional Association.
The association provides daily updates on winter sports conditions on its website, the "SchneeApp Thüringer Wald" and on the snow telephone on +49 800 72 36 488. According to the association, 1400 cross-country ski trails, 20 lifts and almost 50 toboggan slopes as well as 500 kilometers of winter hiking trails will be available in the Thuringian Forest in the coming season.
