Saxony: A German State - Sixty schools are soon set to gain access to the Startchancen program.

Government-funded schools are situated halfway in the countryside and free towns. Within the next two years, additional schools will be added to this list, aiming for a total of 109 primary institutions and 74 secondary schools in the Free State to receive financial assistance.

"Equipping students with fundamental abilities in reading, writing, and math, as well as enhancing their social and emotional capabilities, is a top priority of the program," remarked Culture Minister Christian Piwarz (CDU).

The funds will be directed towards developing new ways of learning and creating inclusive learning spaces. Projects focusing on renovating old buildings or restoring existing structures won't receive funding. In addition, resources are being allocated to multidisciplinary teams and flexible budgets known as 'opportunity budgets.' These budgets enable schools to take the lead in innovating their educational systems.
