Six-year-old drowned in lake - seriously injured

A child is bathing with its family at a lake in Upper Bavaria. In an unsupervised moment, the boy goes into the water alone and goes under. The family starts searching.

- Six-year-old drowned in lake - seriously injured

A six-year-old boy drowned in the Eisolzrieder See near Bergkirchen (Dachau district) and was severely injured in the process. The boy went into the water unsupervised on Tuesday, police reported. When his family noticed he was missing, they began searching for him. A 42-year-old man found the child underwater. He brought the six-year-old to shore and started CPR, as stated. The boy was then airlifted to the hospital by helicopter.

The boy's family is originally from Upper Bavaria, where they frequently visited lakes for summer activities. Despite the incident happening near Bergkirchen, they decided to return to Upper Bavaria to be closer to their support network.
