Several cars involved - Six injured in accident on A1 freeway

At an accident on the A1 motorway near Gevelsberg this morning, six people have been injured. According to the fire department, four cars were involved in the accident in the Bremen direction. The autobahn was closed for rescue operations and cleanup work for approximately one and a half hours.

Approximately 30 emergency responders disconnected the batteries of the accident vehicles, spread sand on the roads due to leaking fluids and deactivated the high-voltage system of a hybrid vehicle. Four injured persons were taken to nearby hospitals.

The accident on the A1 motorway, a major freeway in North Rhine-Westphalia, resulted in six individuals requiring medical attention. For the safety of the rescue team, a significant portion of the northbound traffic towards Bremen was temporarily diverted. In similar incidents, the fire department plays a crucial role, providing assistance and ensuring traffic is managed effectively.
