At least 100,000 Euros in damage were caused by a fire on a tourist bus on the A96 near Holzgünz (District of Unterallgäu). The fire is believed to have started on Saturday due to a technical malfunction, according to police. Smoke suddenly came from the engine compartment during the journey. The driver of the empty bus then left the highway at the exit and parked the bus on the adjacent road, where it burned out, it was reported. The road was reportedly closed for about four hours.

The tourist bus, badly damaged from the fire, was eventually replaced with a new one for the affected tourists. The local authorities decided to increase security measures for buses in the district following the incident.
